Welcome to Clearman's Galley, a beloved family restaurant located at 7215 Rosemead Blvd, San Gabriel, CA 91775. Often playfully referred to as “The Boat,” this gem is more than just a dining spot; it's a vibrant experience where food and fun set sail together!

As you step through the doors, you are enveloped in an inviting atmosphere that strikes a perfect balance between casual comfort and spirited energy. With large screens and multiple projectors, it's no wonder Clearman's is the ideal destination for sports enthusiasts. Picture yourself surrounded by friends, cheering on your favorite team, while indulging in some of the best bar fare in town.

The menu at Clearman's Galley boasts a delicious lineup that caters to every palate. Whether you are in the mood for a classic Cheeseburger ($9.95) or something a bit heartier like the Pastrami Burger ($10.95), you are sure to find something that hits the spot. Vegetarian diners will appreciate the Vegetarian Black Bean Burger ($9.95), while those craving a touch of spice can dive into the BBQ Western Burger ($9.95). And don’t forget to explore the extensive list of sandwiches, like the Beef Dip Sandwich ($10.95) or the crispy Crispy Cod Sandwich ($9.95) that will make your taste buds dance with delight.

For those looking for something light yet filling, their wrap options include the savory Grilled Chicken Caesar Wrap ($9.95) and the refreshing Roasted Turkey & Avocado Wrap ($10.95). Pair your meal with a side of their knee-buckling sweet potato fries, a fan favorite that has been praised by many patrons.

A key standout feature of Clearman's Galley is its heartfelt service. Several guests have noted how the staff goes above and beyond to ensure your dining experience is memorable. One delighted visitor, Judi “Catsoutofthebag” Sum reflected on her experience as an “own world” where both the food and atmosphere create lasting memories. It’s the kind of place where you can drop in anytime and feel welcomed, with a unique charm that keeps you coming back for more.

What truly sets this family restaurant apart, however, is the blend of casual dining with an electric sports bar feel. As Eddie Quezada V mentioned, the experience is enhanced by friendly service and a lively ambience, making it a great spot for gatherings. Whether you're popping in for a late-night bite or celebrating a family occasion, Clearman's Galley promises an experience as satisfying as their food.

So, if you're searching for a local eatery that covers all bases — delicious food, a family-friendly atmosphere, and a vibrant environment for sports lovers — look no further than Clearman's Galley. Your taste buds will thank you!

Came for the first time recently and had a good experience. Atmosphere is cool and casual. The procedure is you order standing up then seat yourself anywhere. However, we had a server pull us over and basically stuck with us the whole time which was very nice and we appreciated it. They have a full bar here and lots of TV's with 2 oversized projectors. The sweet potatoe fries here are knee buckling and a must try!

Fantastic place to watch sports games. Huge screens. Great energy. I haven't been here in years, and the good is still very good. The server was helpful and friendly. Both our sandwiches, turkey club and beef dip were delicious. Our sides of fries and onion rings were good.

Clearman’s Galley – “The Boat” Where you come hungry, leave heavier, and somehow still want more. You don’t just “go” to The Boat. You dock there like a busted-up pirate ship that’s been out to sea for decades, crawling in with a crew of misfits, bandmates, and the one guy who still owes you twenty bucks from 1994. The moment you walk in, you get smacked in the face with that scent — deep-fried, char-grilled, nostalgia-marinated air that could make a vegan sweat. ⸻ The Food The burgers aren’t Instagram-ready little tower sculptures — they’re real. Beefy, greasy enough to lube your elbows, served on buns that could probably stop a BB. Fries? Crisp outside, fluffy inside, perfectly engineered to scoop up enough ketchup to alarm a cardiologist. The chicken dinners are so golden and crunchy you’ll think someone’s smuggling them out of a county fair. You’re not here for microgreens. You’re here for meat, salt, and joy. ⸻ The Vibe It’s not a “theme.” It’s a damn boat. And not some polished yacht either — this thing has seen some stuff. The rebuild might’ve made it bigger, but it’s still got that “everyone’s welcome” buzz. Sports blaring on a wall of screens, kids trying to beat the claw machine, someone in the corner explaining how they almost opened for Van Halen in ’82. The place can handle entire bands, three birthday parties, and your cousin Larry who talks too loud — all at once — without breaking a sweat. ⸻ The History Back in the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s, this was the pit stop for every SGV rocker, punk, and garage-band hero. Pre-show fuel? Check. Post-gig debrief with beer and fries? Double check. You probably saw more handshake deals for “we’re starting a band” happen here than at any recording studio in the Valley. ⸻ The Service Quick. Friendly. They actually look you in the eye — which is rare these days. No pretense, no fake smiles, just that “let’s get you fed” energy that makes you trust them instantly. ⸻ Final Word The Boat is an SGV time capsule that still floats. It’s loud, greasy, friendly, and perfect. You come here to eat like you mean it, laugh until you choke on a fry, and remember why chain restaurants will never compete with a place that’s got real history, real food, and real people. Pro tip: Don’t wear white. And bring an appetite big enough to shame your past self.

Sports bar/restaurant. Large cavernous place with numerous large screen TVs for your Abbott sports fans to enjoy. You place your order at the counter for your food, then go find a place to sit and the food will be delivered to you. Kind of a noisy place so it’s kind of hard to have conversations over the loud music, etc. Decent size outdoor patio. I did not order any food at this location, however, other folks in my parties did and seem to enjoy their meal.

Fun place, might be because we went on a chargers football night and they won. Food was classic bar food and the bar menu was extensive.

I was here for an Alumni event for my HS. This was the first time here. The staff here earn their money and they are VERY BUSY (so be nice and be patient with them). They have a patio with a fire pit that you can sit around and it's raised with chairs around it. They have a fire place inside too, but I don't know how often they use it. Clearman's North Woods Inn is next door. This is the new location for The Galley (The Boat). I will need to come back to see how they are to give them 5 stars. ;)
